CARBON!!!!!!!!

Carbon is the bases of life because it can make lots of bonds. What does that mean? That mean more COMPOUNDS or a mixture of elements.

Why is life based on carbon? Why does such simplicity create such complexity?

First of all, carbon isn't stable. It is missing two of the needed electrons that can make it stable. Because of this, carbon can mix with almost any other element. The simplicity is that carbon has four bonds that can bind to itself that can make carbon add to others. It is the system of arrangement of spontaneous bonding that will create compounds.
